We propose a networking session at IST EVENT 2006
This session aims to bring people from the industry and academia who work on and who are interested in web mining and semantic web fields together, in order to share ideas and seek for partnership possibilities towards an FP7 project. The session will include presentations of the research conducted on data mining, web mining and semantic web areas by a group of researchers in Computer Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University and AGMLAB (a Turkish Company working on semantic web and web mining) and will provide an environment for the people in the field to introduce themselves and their work. Capturing and exploiting knowledge embedded in web is defined to be one of the ICT technology pillars for FP7. Web mining produce information that is applicable in a rich set of areas. Semantic web both facilitates the knowledge discovery and feeds from knowledge discovery for construction of the semantics. The session aims to produce collaborations on the field that will promote scientific information and information flow among partners in Europe.
